The oz-Teachernet has been working with and for teachers since 1995. It is a non-profit community service managed and maintained by academics at the Queensland University of Technology. We believe it to be one of the longest running communities of its kind in the world. Our professional discussion lists currently have a membership of around 1500 people, mostly in Australia, who are educators and education system leaders. Our online curriculum projects offer essential national and international networks to teachers and students. More recently, we have become involved in research partnerships and have been particularly effective in providing educators with the mechanism to conduct collaborative research.
This is our new website and new domain. It will be your portal to our new and existing projects and to our professional discussion lists. There have been quite a few changes to the structure of our site. If you have been re-directed here from a previous bookmark or link please update your bookmarks with this new page. We have tried to make the site as user friendly as possible but welcome any feedback.
How will you make use of the oz-Teachernet? We are looking to increase community input - so, if you have a good idea, let us know and we'll try to make it happen.
| The Fifth Dimension project ran in 2007. Check out some of the work that students have created in the past iterations of this project. Some of the project podcasts can be found here - http://5d.oz-teachernet.edu.au/index.php/Projects |
| Land Yachts 2007 is now over for 2007. Congratulations to everyone involved! The project involved over 500 children from across Australia and over 200 pre-service teachers. This exciting technology project was such a success, we will be running it again in 2008. In the short-term, we are running an Ice Yachts project for schools in Norway in November-December where students will attempt to design a vehicle which travels on ice! The Norwegians will move indoors to be part of Land Yachts 2008 - so we will be scheduling it to fit Northern Hemisphere school terms. Tentative starting date will be September 15, 2008. |
